We don't just wear silly hats, you know. Parliament regularly creates new laws that are stupid,
idiotic, and just plain daft - however, we're rather proud of the fact that since Screaming Lord Sutch first entered politics in 1963, numerous Loony policies have actually been stolen a few years later by the so-called proper parties and made law. We're just ahead of our time, that's all. There are few enough daft traditions being carried on in the UK these days - in the relentless drive towards whatever it is the other parties are driving towards, the highest price that is being paid is the disappearance of humour. Believe it or not, it's actually rather important that people have a laugh. The Loony party makes people smile. It might even make them take interest in the election night broadcasts if they think they'll see some loonies dressed in brightly coloured clothes and hats. We pledge to fight this local election in Elmbridge on an invisible platform so that people cannot see the floors in our policies.

| Issue 1. | We propose to rid the roads of the yellow lines (official graffiti) painted on our roads and replace them with green lines. These will, however, only be painted on areas where motorists can park, thus saving the council a fortune in paint bills. [Report Post] | |
| Issue 2. | We will issue a 99p coin to save on change. The Official Monster Raving Loony Party will not join the single European currency. We will invite all Europeans countries to JOIN THE POUND. [Report Post] | |
| Issue 3. | There will be the chance for residents to not pay any Council Tax by challenging the Mayor of Elmbridge to a game of Scissors/Paper/Stone. Should they win (best of 3) then no tax will be payable for that year however should they lose to the Mayor then the charge will be doubled. [Report Post] | |
| Issue 4. | We will 'Auction' off the naming rights to roads in Cobham with all proceeds going to local good causes. Local professional footballers will then be able to live in a street or road that has been named after them. In addition it will become an illigal offence to support Manchester United whilst living in Cobham. [Report Post] | |
| Issue 5. | There is currently no "none of the above" option on the ballot paper. If there was, more people might actually express their political opinion. In the mean time, there's the Official Monster Raving Loony Party. [Report Post] |
